Behind a complete-game performance by right-handed sophomore pitcher Brady Compton, the Berea-Midpark baseball team defeated Midview, 6-2, Tuesday afternoon at Volunteer Park to claim its second straight SWC season series win. Compton fanned a season-high six hitters, while junior shortstop Jordan Cupach went 2-3 with three RBI. With the win, the Titans improve to 11-7 overall and 10-6 in Southwestern Conference play.
Compton allowed one run in the third and one in the seventh but tallied six strikeouts to claim his first complete-game victory of the season. He scattered five hits with three walks and left 8 Middie runners on base to improve to 4-1 on the year.
Along with Cupach, Jacob Andrews and Sal Rocco each had multi-hit afternoons. In his last 17 at-bats, Rocco is hitting .470. Andrews, with his two hits this afternoon, is the team leader in hits on the year with his 22.
The Titans are back at it again on Wednesday May 8th when they host the Eagles of Avon. First pitch from Volunteer Park is set for 4:30 pm
