Senior Zack Baker toed the rubber at Fisher Field Tuesday and went 7 solid innings for the Titans in their 10-6 victory over Normandy on Senior Day.
73 of Baker’s 109 pitches on the afternoon (67%) were thrown for strikes and it showed in the stat book, as the lefty hurler struck out ten during his seven innings of work. Baker scattered 7 hits and issued one walk on the day.
The Titans trailed for the majority of the game until the sixth inning when the bats came alive. Berea-Midpark would send 15 batters to the plate in the inning, collecting eight hits and plating nine runs to take the lead.
Seniors Matt Morelli and Grant Smith led the Titans offensive punch. Morelli was 3-4 from the plate with a triple and a run scored while Smith was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Titans will host the winner of Clevleand Rhodes and Cleveland Max Hayes on Thursday May 16th in the OHSAA Sectional Final. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 pm from Fultz Field in Strongsville.
