The Berea-Midpark boys and girls swimming and diving teams earned eleven individual qualifying berths and five qualifying relay times to this week’s OHSAA Northwest District Meet. The meet will take place February 17-20 at Bowling Green State University and Freemont Ross High School.
On the girls team, six qualified for this week’s meet. Abby Calaway will be competing in the 100 freestyle in addition to swimming in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay with teammates Bella Willet, Mackenzie Black and Annalise Bolton. In diving, both Eliza Wagner and Morgan Hartman qualified for Wednesday’s district competition at BGSU.
The Berea-Midpark boys will send nine to the district meet, led by Jacob Hoessle who will compete in four events. The senior qualified for the 100 freestyle, the 200 freestyle as well as swimming the anchor leg of the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays with teammates Roman Wentzel, Ethan Barker and Mitchell Windahl.
Barker also qualified in the 500 freestyle with teammate Windahl and the 200 individual medley. Wentzel will compete in the 200 freestyle with Hoessle. Ethan Dort will swim in the 100 butterfly as well as a leg in the 200 medley relay with teammates Kyle Neumann, Ben Washburn and Aidan Carney. Kyle Hammond will compete in the district diving competition on Thursday at Freemont Ross High School.
The Titans will compete in the OHSAA Northwest District Meet. Schedule below:
