The Berea-Midpark swimming and diving program swam in friendly waters Tuesday evening and snagged a pair of wins over North Ridgeville at the Berea-Midpark Middle School Pool. The girls knocked off the Rangers by a tally of 102-77, and Berea-Midpark’s boys defeated North Ridgeville by a score of 111-40.
Berea-Midpark had two swimmers win multiple events during the Tuesday meet. Abby Calaway controlled the short and long distance races with wins in the 50 freestyle (26.76) and 500 freestyle (5:41.33). Mitchell Windahl performed flawlessly in the 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle. He won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:18.70 and registered a time of 2:07.35 in the 200 freestyle.
Other individual event winners for the Titans were Ethan Dort (100 butterfly/1:01.79), Ethan Baker (100 freestyle/57.48), and Roman Wentzel (100 backstroke/1:06.30).
The diving crew brought their A-game and left with two victories on the day. Morgan Hartman (186.70) and Kyle Hammond (239.30) collected first-place finishes on the one-meter board.
The Titans took five of six relays against the Rangers, as the boys relay teams won all three events and the girls won the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.
The Titans will hit the road on Saturday January 16th to Splash Zone in Oberlin, Ohio to battle Avon Lake. Events get underway at 6:30 p.m.
