Titans News · OHSAA Update – Athletics Remain Suspended Indefinitely

Today, OHSAA Executive Director Jerry Snodgrass and the rest of the staff of the OHSAA held a press conference to update its member schools on the status of winter sports tournaments and the status of spring sports.

As of today, athletics remain suspended indefinitely.  Much will be determined by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s recommendations and decision on when school will return to session.  The OHSAA implemented indefinitely a no-contact period on Friday March 13, which prohibits any coach, paid or volunteer, approved by the BCSD Board of Education to provide coaching, instruction or supervising conditioning and physical fitness programs or open gyms to members of a school team in their sports.

With a return to school date tentatively set by Governor DeWine for April 6, the OHSAA is tentatively allowing practices to resume on Monday April 6th.  A tentative date of April 11th has been scheduled for teams to return to scrimmages/regular season contests.

All Berea-Midpark High School, Middle School and Roehm athletic facilities are closed.  This includes the track at BMMS.  Athletes are not to be practicing on their own or in groups at these facilities. The Berea-Midpark Athletic Department is asking student-athletes to please stay safe, healthy and responsible.

Berea City Schools and Berea-Midpark Athletics will convey additional information, when available, via its social media channels as well as www.berea.k12.oh.us and titansathletics.org
