The Berea-Midpark boys and girls track and field teams will send six representatives to the 2019 OHSAA Track and Field Championship Meet in Columbus Friday and Saturday in The Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Senior vaulter Justin Muchewicz will compete for the boys in the pole vault, while freshman jumper Faith Kingsley will compete in the girls long jump. Muchewicz qualified for Columbus after clearing 14-00 and finishing fourth in Amherst on Wednesday. Kingsley finished third, posting her best jump on her first attempt, spanning 17-05.75, and qualifying for the State Meet.
Junior runner Shura Ermakov makes her second appearance at the state meet in the 300m hurdles. Ermakov finished the regional final in third with a time of 44.77. The girls 4x800m relay team of Morgan Jankowski, Megan Thai, Kenzie Howard and Ermakov round out the group heading to the state capital next weekend. The quartet edged Lexington High School for second by five tenths of a second, crossing the finish line in 9:13.39, securing their place in the State Meet.
The six Titans will travel to Columbus for the OHSAA State Track and Field Championship Meet next weekend. Below are the scheduled times for each event:
