Berea-Midpark Athletic Director Adam Howard announced that Abbey Golden will be the third Head Coach in Berea-Midpark girls soccer history.
Golden comes from Midview High School where she served as the girls soccer head coach for the past four seasons.
“We are excited to identify a Head Soccer Coach who has the experience and success that Abbey Golden brings to Berea-Midpark High School,” Adam Howard said. “We feel her passion will allow our girls soccer team to develop into an elite program. Her dedication to the youth developmental leagues will be a tremendous asset to our three communities.”
“I am thrilled for my opportunity to coach at Berea-Midpark,” Golden said. “My goal is that the players will achieve high levels of success, team camaraderie, and discover an excitement and love for the game.”
Golden is quickly becoming a respected soccer coach in Northeast Ohio, specifically in Lorain County where she was named Lorain County Head Coach of the Year two of her four seasons at Midview High School where she achieved a record of 49-18-4.
She was a standout soccer player at North Olmsted High School, where she lettered all four years for the Eagles and remains one of the top ten soccer players in school history. In her senior season, Golden was named 2nd team all-state and received the honor of being named a top ten soccer player in the state by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Golden continued her soccer career at Division I University of the Pacific and went on to play professionally with the San Francisco Nighthawks of the Women’s Premier Soccer League.
Congratulations Coach Golden, and we look forward to your leadership in continuing to build on the history of Berea-Midpark Titans Soccer!
