The Titans competed in the OHSAA Sectional Meet at Lakewood on Saturday, where six individuals and five relay teams qualified for next week’s Northwest District Meet.
For the girls, Erika Drager, Elizabeth Hani, LynnDee Popovich and Lexi Schuller all recorded qualifying times in their individual events. Drager finished 10th in the 100 freestyle and 12th in the 200 freestyle. Hani finished in 27th place in the 100 butterfly to advance.
Schuller qualified in both of her individual events by finishing 10th in the 500 freestyle and 10th in the 200 IM. Popovich also qualified in the 200 IM with her 17th place finish, and will also advance in the 100 breaststroke by finishing in 14th place.
The girls will also send three relay teams to Bowling Green next weekend. The medley relay team (18th place), 200 freestyle relay team (12th place) and 400 freestyle relay team (11th place) all qualified over the weekend.
Individually, Sam Bright and Caden Dees advanced with their performances. Bright will advance in both the 50 freestyle (13th place) and the 100 freestyle (9th place). Dees finished in 9th place in the one meter diving competition.
The boys had two relay teams qualify for the District Meet. Both the 200 freestyle relay team (19th place) and the 400 freestyle relay team (21st place) will compete at Bowling Green.
The qualifying individuals and relay teams will compete at the Northwest District Meet. Dees will compete in the Division 1 Diving Competition on Tuesday February 13th at Freemont High School. The remaining competitors will swim at Bowling Green State University on Saturday February 17th.
Ticket sales will be available for purchase online and will be made available on Monday February 12th at 8:00AM. Online tickets will be purchased on the BGSU website. There will likely be no tickets available the day of the meet.
