The Berea-Midpark football team scored 28 first half points to set the tone early Friday as it defeated North Ridgeville, 49-14. The victory was the Titans third in a row, who now sit at 3-1, 3-0 on the season.
The Titans air attack was led by junior quarterback Trevor Bycznski as he completed 27 of 34 passes for a Berea-Midpark school record 461 yards and four touchdowns. Many were impressed with the junior’s performance, but none more than Head Coach Jon Hunek. “I thought Trevor had an excellent game” said Hunek. “Breaking school records is an amazing accomplishment.”
Helping Bycznski break the school record was a platoon of wide receivers who all turned in excellent individual nights of their own. Junior wide receiver Garrett Waite led the receiving corps as he caught eight passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. Junior wide out Dwayne Holland hauled in three passes for 125 yards and two scores, including a 71 yard bomb on the opening drive of the third quarter. Senior Luis Vega was two yards shy of recording his third 100 yard receiving game of the season.
Junior running back Bryce Agnew led the ground attack. Agnew rushed for 48 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns. Vega led the defense with five tackles.
UP NEXT Berea-Midpark returns home to the friendly confines of George Finnie Stadium on Friday, September 22 when it hosts Amherst Steele at 7:00 p.m.
