Below is the preseason information as well as open gym dates for girls in the 7th and 8th grade who are interested in participating in basketball this winter.
Friday September 22nd – Open Gym (3:30-4:15) Optional
Monday September 25th – Open Gym (5:15-6:30) Optional
Monday October 9th – Open Gym (3:00-4:30) Optional
Wednesday October 11th – Open Gym (3:00-4:30) Optional
Friday October 13th – Open Gym (3:00-4:15) Optional
Monday October 16th – Tryout #1 (3:00-5:00) Required
Tuesday October 17th – Tryout #2 (3:00-5:00) Required
Wednesday October 18th – Final Tryout (3:00-5:15) *By Invitation Only
In addition to the open gyms listed above, there are open gyms at the high school every Tuesday from 2:30 – 4:30 until the season begins. Preseason workouts are also available to the girls interested in basketball and those times are Mondays and Thursday at the Roehm Athletic Complex from 3:20 – 4:30 until the season starts. If you would like to attend either of the open gyms at BMHS or workouts at RAC, you MUST take the athletic shuttle over to those buildings. The shuttle runs after school and picks up outside of the sports center.
Please note that each of the open gyms is OPTIONAL. You do not have to attend the open gyms or workouts in order to tryout for either team.
You MUST attend all of the tryouts in order to be considered for either team. The Final tryout will be for girls who have been invited back after the 1st or 2nd tryout.
You must have an updated physical or a physical on file in order to participate in the open gyms or tryouts. Please let the coaches know if you have a physical on file when you sign in for open gyms or tryouts. You must also have an emergency medical card (form) filled out to participate. All forms must be filled out on Final Forms and be listed for basketball. Please double check that before the dates of open gyms/tryouts.
**During each of the open gym/tryout dates, please wear a shirt that has your last name on the back. This will help the coaches identify the players while they are playing. Be sure to also wear appropriate gym clothes and athletic shoes.
